If you are wondering why anyone would want to do this, bear with me. I will explain why this is important (scroll to bottom if you are familiar with using MyHbarWallet).
First, we will be using MyHbarWallet. This is a free and open-source project which is a great way to access any Hedera account. The only two things that are necessary are:
- Hedera Account ID (0.0.XXXXX)
- Your Private Key
If you have access to these two things then you can access your account using MyHbarWallet.
As the title of this post suggests, we will be using Atomic Wallet. Another third-party wallet that could work is Exodus. Any third-party wallet that gives you access to your keys will work. I have a guide that will walk you through how to find your private key on Atomic and Exodus.
Now we are set to access your account. Go to www.myhbarwallet.com and click Access My Account.
Click Software > Private Key, then click Continue
Next, take your private key from your Atomic Hedera account (check guide if you still need it), input into the field and click Access Account.
This will take you to the screen where you will input your Hedera Account ID from your Atomic Wallet (if you still need this check out this guide). Then click Continue
You should now have full access to you account. You can send hbar, tokens, or both. On the left side, there are three options (Crypto, Files, and Tools) with even more features.
If you experience an error that says “Received unhandled error from hedera: TRANSACTION_EXPIRED” or “Invalid date time. Check your current system time” then make sure your computer clock matches Time.is. If it’s off by a few seconds, it can cause this error.
So… What’s the Big Deal? Why bother doing this?
You made it to the end and now I will tell you the reason why this is important. MyHbarWallet has many more features than most wallets at the time of this writing. One of those features is creating a new account. This means you can create 100s of accounts if you would like. Keep in mind that there is a small fee for each account you create. You could potentially create accounts for your friends and family to get them started with Hedera. The best way to do this is to leave this tab/window open and open a new tab/window with the www.myhbarwallet.com homepage in the new tab/window.
